You complain because you focus on the negative aspects of your situation. Think about positives. For example) You are locked outside of your house in the rain. You could say "Ugh this is messing up my hair!! Im so cold! Im so bored!" OR you could say "At least I'm safe, at least I have a house to go back to and am not homeless, at least I dont have to deal with this everyday, at least im wearing warm clothes..etc" Of course its a shitty situation but why focus on the bad aspects of it when you can try to be happy? We like to complain because misery likes company, but well, its a good habit to break. When having a conversation think of more positive things in your life or dont say the negative complaints out loud. Talk about interests and hobbies and things you LIKE to do instead of things you dont like to do. You can talk about things you want to change in your life and why, but complaining is no fun and it doesnt get much done. I used to complain a lot too so I know what its like Hope I helped you :) Good Luck

Other Answers:
  1. You can ask good questions. Or talk about things you love which those around you like too.
  2. Try to find more good in things, than bad. Also show interest in what the other person is saying. Ask questions (not too personal) about the other persons likes & dislikes. Talk about the weather, places you've been, things you like to do.
  3. Try painting. Speak through your visual imagination what bothers you, if you can't speak verbally, educate yourself in other way.

It is not the why what makes you change but the how and when.
  4. before you speak . just think to yourself 'I am not going to complain' then don't complain about stuff.
also don't complain about small stuff, you're allowed to complain about bigger things. people wont mind that.
