they think they are as to them depression is a cover all term applied to many things that are just typical normal teenage issues. Factor in a culture that sees any deviation as an excuse to dispense pills and potions along with an unhealthy fixation on the self which is ably assisted by a huge army of psychs and councillors who'll probe the mind for the solutions to problems you never knew existed while glossing over the real ones. Or the fact they have it all but without the ability to talk to anyone properly anymore as they don't know how or the people around haven't the time to listen. first world problems???

Rising crime, broken homes, diseases, confusion, deception. Just to give a superficial list. Plus, there are so many distraction, we probably dont always realize the affect they may be having on us internally, until we feel down and in the dumps. Plus, society many times keeps us close minded to the outside, i.e., other countries, lands. Sometimes getting away and seeing what is out there and how others live life brings a fresh new perspective.

Some say they are depressed because they are told to act like adults but then still treated like children because they're 'in between' the two.
Others are depressed because they believe there is nothing to do for teenagers anymore.
Other teenagers are depressed because they think it's 'cool' to complain about everything - let's hope this doesn't last! (not many people do this though) - LOVE is Beauty and Beauty is LOVE
