Do men get jealous of one another in the same way that women do?

Asked by ♥Glinda♥ at 19 May,2013
If a female is jealous of another, she might criticize the other woman's appearance or behavior, gossip about her, make up stories to discredit her. Have you seen men do these same kinds of behaviors towards one another?

Men get jealous of other men in different areas compared to women. Things like how much we make, our car, how hot our GF/Wife is, how buff we are etc. All things that guys strive for to achieve. A guy that has it all can create jealousy or motivation to be as good as he is depending upon the guy. Sometimes when we see what we view as an average joe with an amazingly beautiful GF we are thinking to ourselves 'WTF does he have that I don't have?!' But we usually don't go bagging on the guy and pointing out his flaws. A lot of times if a guy has something to say to another guy he will say it right to his face. Guys are challenging like that.

  1. No, because we are subhumans you see. We don't even deserve the human title despite all of our achievements, we have no emotions, we have no morals or ethics.
  2. I think men and women get jealous over different things.Women talk behind your back. Men just talk sh/t and compete with each other one on one.
  3. Usually I say not by majority, but I have seen it.
  4. i can only speak for myself 35 and single.

-all my jealousy is positive, the guy may make more money than me or be in better shape.

Not they are ugly, they are a cheater, or they don't have it takes, and i can't see what she sees in that guy.

In some cases i do feel i look better but i don't just run off at the mouth and say the guy is ugly like you are pointing out.

If anything i go hit the gym harder and focus more on my career. Cause the only excuse for me not being where i want in my life falls back on me.

Sorry I feel no man has better options of women to choose from and better chances. No reason to feel jealous, just makes realize im behind in life. Same way if i go to the gym and I see a guy who is in better shape. Makes me want to get in better shape.

I think thats why i think women are irrational. They hate to admit a girl looks better than them if they lost a man to a woman.
  5. No men rarely do that, if they ever do they just d a deep sigh, and then move on with their life, and try to do better at whatever they want to do better at. I remember when I was like 13 I won a dance competition, and one girl got mad and called me a fat azz even though I was like 5'1", and 113 pounds.
Most guy's don't think about things like that. They notice it, but usually they don't let it get to them, and cause them to treat other men badly. Usually when a guy does that he's like a 13 year old, and that's not a man.
  6. Well,I've noticed everytime I talk to a certain friend(male),my other friend(he's not gay/bi) always gets jealous for some reason.

And he thinks he'll make me jealous if he invites friends over without inviting me..

    So yes,I guess so.
  7. I don't gossip but when I see a guy with a beautiful girl solely because of his looks, it can make one a little frustrated...
  8. my hubby just said no to this.

in my experience, men get competitive but it's usually more out in the open and it's less hostile. they might pick on each other's appearance in a joking way. sometimes the other guy even laughs a bit. i'm clearly biased as a female, but it seems like girls go for the jugular more.
  9. Yes, but they'll show it differently than women.
  10. yes some guys act like b**ches
  11. Idk about you but I've definitely seen men fight over stupid sh1t. Tell me that isn't jealousy or competition.
  12. Men as far as I can tell have a greater comraderie. They don't take things as personally. They may compete for a girl, they may be aggressive in that, but they are certainly far more decent as far as I understand. They don't tend to mistreat one another in quite the same way.
  13. No
  14. Yes. Men gossip. Haven't you noticed? Men also criticize other men's appearances, especially if the man is attractive and puts an effort into it.

It's actually pretty funny when a group of guys gangs up on a nicely dressed handsome man and calls him gay and tries to make him uncomfortable. It's transparent jealousy, but it seems to work. I've seen men bully other men into not dressing well. I've had men complain to me that it's happened to them too.
  15. I've never seen it happen, but I'm sure it happens sometimes. Especially if Guy A likes this one girl and Guy B comes along and chats her up and makes her laugh in front of Guy A, he'll likely get pissed and jealous or critical of Guy B.

In my case, I don't really get jealous of other guys who may be more attractive than I am. I tend to see guys like this as inspirations and something to look up to, rather than getting bitter and upset. Being negative won't make anything better whatsoever, so why not focus on improving myself instead?
  16. kinda, it really depends on what. like females might be like "omggg!!!! im so jealous of your nails! they look soooo good!!" but something men might be jealous of might be expressed by "damn dude your car looks clean!"
  17. Of course they do! I see it all the time. Especially if they like a certain group of women and they aren't apart of that group. This goes for all men. They can deny it all they want but they do.
