If all men chose to leave the military tomorrow, we'd all be screwed?

Asked by Hannah at 21 May,2013
Why is that? Thanks Voila, that opinion got 4 TU, so people obviously agree with it. I was hoping for some details..some explanation. That's all But Temple, he said "all men". I guess those foreign enemies of war are men too. Doesn't that include them? I assumed it did, them being men n all...so what would happen then? :)

No we wouldn't, because then no country would have much of a military any more and maybe we would finally have a shot at world peace. I'll tell you how we truly would be screwed...if all females had their uteruses removed tomorrow. What's worse, world peace or extinction of our species? Hmmmm. No matter how some men try to claim that men's contributions are more important than women's contributions, there's nothing more convincing than a planet devoid of humans in 100 years time.

Other Answers:
  1. That would actually be pretty funny.

A sadistic cruel side of me wants to see that happen.

I think it will take the piss out of that arguement that says that "women no longer need men". Of course no one has actually said that. But sometimes I get the feeling many women think that.

I'm not an MRA or misogynist mind you. But, I'm just not feeling like myself today. So yeah. Shoot me.
  2. Mass unemployment, unsecured passages, challenged land, insecurity and, most fearful of all.. growth of the developing world.
  3. Because women will be left in charge of the nukes
  4. There really is no point in pondering improbable hypotheticals. It isn't going to happen. Use your brain power for more productive thoughts.
  5. We'd be screwed if alien invasion just happened to transpire shortly after, so yes.
  6. Because then there would be the small percentage left of women who want to be in the military and yes you would all be screwed. Outnumbered.
  7. Our enemies would conquer us. As far as North K. is concerned we're still at war. I mean, their idea of "negotiating" is to threaten us with nuclear assault. If we had no army, all the little radical nations who want to turn this country into a bombed portal to hell, would probably do it. Unfortunately, my home country is not all that well liked.

Edit: If no country in the world felt any need at all for a military, and aside from the millions who would be out of a job... We'd be better off.. A world without war or a need for armies to wage war is not a bad thing in any meaning of the word.
  8. Well, if every man in the WORLD did this, then we might be okay.

However, I don't think that was the point the user was trying to make. If the UK military went AWOL all at once, UK would be inviting a military attack on its soil.

That was probably the point the person was trying to make.

  10. What? who thought of this? Of course, thats most of the military.
  11. Granny Tea, took it where I was going with this...

Men all pull out of the military, vs all women remove their uterus... Now, let's see where this would go. Since we're being "hypothetical" and all...

Protecting women and children has always insure the continuation of the human race, no matter how many wars human males have created.
  12. I never thought about it that way... But is it true people in the military are just invading other people country's?
  13. here is another thought for you, just imagine if there was no poverty, and the miltary had to raise money for arms, with collections, sponsored runs, etc, would they be successful?
