What does "There Is Nothing Divine About Someone Who's Had An Abortion" mean?

Asked by Jess at 20 May,2013
Are they saying God doesn't like abortion? I always find the little "pro-life Daddy" spiel amusing. It's so odd. I'm not sure what response is supposed to be evoked. Abortion existed when the Bible was written. There were herbal abortifacients. The Bible actually talks about induced abortions, and it doesn't forbid them.

Religion isn't much fun unless you can use it to condemn others.

Other Answers:
  1. yeah, those men that wish they had reproductive rights instead of rightless forced responsibility.

those men should just accept the inequality and injustice forced upon them by gynocentric societies and shut up about it.
  2. I've never heard that before so I can't help you. Sorry.
And google never heard of it either.
  3. well, it's stating the obvious, as there's nothing divine about someone who hasn't had one either. Or anyone or anything else for that matter.
  4. i guess it means that some mythical creature from 3000-year-old fairy tales has not blessed our actions.

    and i'm cool with that.
  5. I am atheist, let me be clear.

    In my point of view
This means that Abortion is not a solution for unwanted pregnancies.

I respect all religions, so if you say that it means that God doesn't like abortion, then he doesn't like abortion.

Who even knows if abortion existed at the times where "the bible was written". hehehe...
  6. Obviously they believe nothing in that person to be holy or righteous or whatever.

I am not a fan of abortion. But I think slander of those who have elected to have abortion is not righteous. Slander is judgement & judgement is a sin. Anyone using any holy doctrine for reference should consider not cherry picking. If a person is a Christian then they have professed their faith in Jesus & should follow his instruction & not judge. Jesus didn't cast stones at Mary he helped her. It appears hardcore Christians often revert back to 1st testament.
  7. It may have something to do with women referring to themselves and other women as "angels" and "goddesses", and nothing to do with the Bible or Christianity.
  8. It just means having an abortion doesn't make anyone special and they deserve no particular praise or notice.
  9. He means that giving birth is sacred. So a girl who loses her virginity (tsk tsk), is already apparently an unholy vessel. Heap upon that getting knocked up. Therefore, having an abortion = not being divine in the eyes of God. Or him. Because he's got this pesky little god complex which apparently allows him to judge others. Well, not others. Just women.
