Do colleges have the power to convict people of crimes?

No, although they can certainly investigate whether a crime was committed and use that as the basis for an expulsion. But they can't put anybody in jail or anything like that.

    And even IF it did happen, it's not like the colleges would have used Title IX to justify lowering the burden of proof to find males guilty of sex crimes. Lol! That would be just crazy! Whoever thinks that must a dope!

  6. No but colleges often do conceal certain crimes and try to sweep them under the rug so it doesn't harm enrollment or their reputation.
