Question about something an antifeminist told me: Are men who are raped failures?

I asked a question about how we can prevent shame from preventing male rape victims from coming forward, and I was told this, and I wonder if other people (especially antifeminists) agree with this. "It's like being murdered, except having to live with it afterwards. He's failed at the most fundamental task set before him. To protect himself. A man is supposed to protect himself, his family, and his society. A man who can't protect even himself is a failure in the most absolute sense. This is a matter of instinct that goes far deeper than simple culture. There is no way to scrub out millennia of evolution, no matter how much feminism you throw at it."

What do I think of it? Remember back during the height of the Iraq War when 4 â€" 5 soldiers were being blown to pieces each day, and you had these keyboard commandos who had never served and would literally defecate themselves if actually sent into battle boasting about how patriotic they were and that how those who opposed the conflict were “traitors” and “pussies?” Remember how could almost see through your computer monitor how happy they were after things like the Haditha Massacre and Abu Ghraid? I have a similar opinion of this person. It’s a special combination of ignorance, lack of intelligence and empathy and taking pleasure in the pain and suffering of others. Ironically, as tough as a game these people talk, they’re usually the first to cry uncle when the pressure is on them.

7. This is certainly more true in non Western cultures.
   
   In Africa (e.g. the Congo) many of these guys just commit suicide.
   
   Why? Their wives will no longer have anything to do with them because they clearly are no longer capable of performing their primary function: To protect the household. Their proof: They can't protect themselves.

   By Western logic, no, but the Congo attrocities didn't take place in the West. This is why the conquering armies in the Congo chose to have women rape the defeated soldiers.
   
   I don't consider a rape victim a failure, but then again I am not a Congolese wife.
