In the real world, not all people can become scientists or other white collar jobs due to its limited places. But why is feminism is advocating that humanity "need" women to fill more into those jobs? What is so special about women? @PAMELA: Just because your daughter likes stars and planets therefore we need your daughter? I like particle physics is that a good reason for CERN to need me?? Delusional feminist maggot @Thrive: When you enter this "man's" world of hard science, respect is earned not demanded. Another delusional feminist. If people want to take you seriously, start DOING AND QUIT BITCHING! @Salt: It's ironic when feminists talk about civilized, advance culture and modernity when feminism has contributed nothing. Just shut up. Feminism is just a parasite that leeches blood from "advance society", deteriorating and corrupting it. How to defeat feminists? Throw facts at them! I listen to facts, not POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!

There's nothing more special about women than there is men. We don't NEED more women scientists. They only say that because the field is male dominated. This is not through discrimination, but personal choices. This is a feel-good measure for women. Obama wants to limit the number of men in college courses so more women will take them. That is how feminists get equality...by forced discrimination against men. I guess feminists think that women aren't that independent after all.
Other Answers:
- So they is can do studies on me wanker
- They like to pretend that sex and the city is about female scientists or whatever

@iampro OMG! you watch sherlock too?! I love that show. Season 3 is coming soon
@iampro 2014?1 That's in like forever. What's your favorite episode. Mine is the one with that dominatrix lady. I cried when he jumped off the roof
@iampro I've only seen the first one with robert downey jr. I've seen every episode at least 3 times - That is idiocy, we don't need scientists to be equally distributed to cover all genders and all races and whatnot. That is definitely not how the world should promote equality, in fact that is not true equality at all. The world needs the intelligent people to become scientists.
It is an injustice to males and an insult to women. I do want to be a scientist/engineer one day, but I don't want to be one because of unfair privileges, that is like saying that I am not capable of being one on my own.
@ 1D lover - I personally hate 1D but I'll forgive you for loving Sherlock!!! Yeah I am obsessed, I hate how they only have 3 episodes per year! Soon? apparently season 3 has been postponed, it won't come out until 2014!
@ Pamela - Why not? Because it is unfair that a certain gender gets it easy just to fill up seats. You want equal opportunities for your grand-daughter, but perhaps 40 years from now I will want fair and just opportunities for my (hypothetical) son.
@ Invisibleman - You're right, it's like these feminists are just trying to insult women by saying we're not good enough, we need help. Jobs aren't made to make people feel good, they're made to cater to society's needs.
@ 1D lover - That's my favourite episode too! Although I couldn't tell if she lived in the end or he was just fantasizing (i hope she live). The actors are too busy with The Hobbit and Star Trek so we have to keep waiting. Did you watch Sherlock Homes (robert downey jnr)? The movie and the TV series are both stuck at the same cliffhanger: Sherlock falls off a building and dies, but somehow lives. Now I have resorted to obsessively watching reruns. - There is nothing special about em so they want people to make them fill like they really are special. Feminists think women should be treated equal except to get a beating when they are stepping over the line if you know what I mean.
- We don't 'need' women scientists. It's optional.
- Scientifically speaking, having more of a gender balance in the sciences would help combat bias. Then again, this isn't the reason stated, which definitely is biased.
- People who say we need more women scientists are just too politically correct. No matter what gender you are, as long as you know your stuff and can get the job done, it doesn't matter. Like someone else said, by adding more women in certain fields that are mostly consisted of men, equality would look better. But people need to start realizing that people should only be taking and getting the jobs they can handle and to not be judged or hired just because of their gender.
- What is so special about men? there should be a balance of both sexes in most professions, that is healthy and good for society,i tell my 10 year old grand daughter she can do anything she likes,at the moment she is very interested in the stars and planets and wants to study astronomy, she says she wants to visit other planets in the future, why not?
- So more women can lose their NASA equipment in space like Pamela said.
- It's more about the fact that women aren't taken seriously and are rather discouraged to join hard science fields. Not to mention the discrimination going on...''Oh, women aren't logical enough to be efficient scientists'', ''oh, women are too emotional to be able to work in the sciences'', ''oh, women don't have the intellect of men, therefore, they are not capable enough to be scientists'' etc etc etc etc. The moment a woman enters a science class, she will be looked at as a woman, not a serious person/candidate with potential in the field. A lot of guys don't take female scientists seriously simply because they are women, because they believe that the hard sciences belong to men. A woman has to be twice as tough to earn half the respect of a man, and work twice as much to PROVE herself in these fields.
And you call yourselves a civilized, advanced culture. With these backwards attitudes on women? I think not!
@Slab: *shows the stop and go away sign with the palm* Keep your sarcasm to yourself, please. Kthnxbai. And don't you DARE tell me to shut up, kid! YOU shut the fck up!
And I'm going to report your question, because it's just a stupid rant nobody needs. You obviously are ALL for sexism against women in the science fields. There is nothing left to debate with someone who is not even open to listen to what the other side has to say, but rather simply just to insult and criticize and label. - We just need sciencists in general, there gender is optional.
