hanged by the neck until dead OR allowed to enter God's Kingdom for all of eternity? I noticed many are making the assumption the woman aborted her baby. Perhaps she did. The question doesn't say. But I did leave that detail out deliberately. Pretty good answers though so far to claim the fetus is nothing but a cell until birth is much too simplistic and it's wrong on both the law and the facts

"Should a woman be punished for killing her baby?" Assuming you don't mean that she had an abortion, absolutely she should be. "hanged by the neck until dead OR allowed to enter God's Kingdom for all of eternity?" Well as I'm not a supporter of capital punishment in most cases, I'd say if she deliberately murdered her child, she should spend perhaps the rest of her life in prison. If she recklessly caused the death of her child, perhaps not the rest of her life, but certainly a sizable chunk. If she effected the death of her child by way of ignorance (ie. by doing something that she didn't know would kill her child), then I'd say her punishment should vary from none to moderate, depending upon if it was reasonable for her to expect that her decision could have caused the death of her baby.

- It depends on what you mean by killing. If you mean abortion no, as it is only a cell until day of birth. We lose millions of cells everyday. If you mean a live born baby and murder then yes. And as for the god's kingdom part I'm not a religious man so I'll leave that as is.
- As in an actual murder, yes, she should be severely punished! Of course, God forgives people for everything, but I would never have the strength to allow her to have eternal celebration, no matter if she asked for forgiveness or not.
- "...as it is only a cell until day of birth."
You should have probably added to the above: "...as is my brain years after birth." - I think babies should be ground up and used as moisturizer because of their soft skin.
- This is just hate speech against women who have abortions.
Who are you to judge? - Abortion? No.
Newborn? Absolutely. - i think "Tylor" said it all!!
- We rarely kill convicted murderers who killed actual people, why would we kill someone who aborts a baby?
An egg yolk isn't an egg, a fetus isn't a person. - If there is a case were a killer committed a double homicide for killing a woman and her unborn baby and if a person can be punished for killing the unborn baby, I say, "yes". A mother should be punished for killing her child whether if its before or after birth.

Murder: Well we should treat it like every other murder, the jury decides. She could have been forced into it by her husband you know. There is always two sides to a story.
