Have you ever gone thru GS like a day or an hour what have you & make a tally for how many anti each questions were posted? Would a tallied out come say anything about merit to debates here? Hi Twin, good point I wasn't accounting for deletions. When thinking bout it.

i often count and look at question type and the user patterns they change depending on time of day and which countries are on sometimes their are blocks of 40 questions with only one or two female users asking questions US afternoons are mainly dating and smut questions US mornings/UK evenings there are a lot of the feminist/MRA's are evil type questions - also UK mornings the question types are closely linked to the users - most ask the same type of questions day in day out..... the derogatory stuff is posted on mass by the guys - and a lot of it is deleted because the content is appalling, often violent and can be very abusive younger users often see this as a forum to test boundaries and get reactive when their crap is deleted most of the regs keep within acceptable limits by and large EDIT: i have also noticed that the section is very slow - it should do at lest two pages and hour during peak time and 1 an hour off peak - i feel this is due to Trolling, abuse, poor quality posts and the reporting/back reporting.... i know i have been in other sections lately - because quite frankly the gang mentality in gs is unhealthy and so is the constant abuse... i know many other people with interesting q and a are also going to other sections you come here and you can see the same tired old gang patting each other on the back posting the same tired old stuff...

  1. I have not done that.

But you don't really have to do hours of research to notice that any pro-woman comment gets 4-5 TDs, while any anti-woman comment gets 4-5 TUs.

@cinnamon - Maybe you already saw it, but I went ahead and took the challenge, and categorized 8 hours of activity.

    20.1% = Pro-MRA, anti-feminist, or rants against women.
    4.6% = Pro-feminist, or rants against men.
5.4% = Someone with a fetish asking leading questions for their own sexual gratification
6.2% = Questions about body image, body type, or whether they're attractive
37.2% = General chat, rants, or polls about the relationships between men and women.
    18.6% = Jokes, completely off-topic, or indecipherable
7.8% = Actual information-seeking questions that don't violate the ToS.
  2. No, as it would be constantly changing. I see a lot more anti-women questions than I have ever seen anti-male questions, though... A LOT more!

EDIT: I don't think anyone is immune to the reportniks, and I've been accused of being the one that's doing the reporting, but I've had a lot of questions and answers reported lately...some from as far back as three years ago.

I've also had many of them appealed and put back...probably about half of them.
  3. yes...
it has been a couple years though.

there is a "pendulum swing" aspect to it.

and, FAR MORE anti feminist questions have been deleted than anti MRA question.
    FACT. like a 10 to 1 ratio.

    hi cinnamon
  4. 20 questions x 7 pages
  5. No, I don't have the patience for that.
  6. The GEN in GENder studies should be for GENeralizations. I have not counted but for awhile I tried giving lessons on fallacies - particular sweeping and hasty generalizations but got tired of that when it didn't work so now I mostly ignore the questions. I think that you could say the debates definitely do not have a lot of merit.
  7. I try to phrase my generalizations in the form of questions. Like "Is this how it is?"
  8. Nope, can't say that I have.
  9. I don't generalize anything. I am very open minded.
