Are Caucasian men pressuring women to be too thin?

Asked by Cough at 10 May,2013
I mean woman should be thin and have a healthy weight. But they are taking it too far by only accepting women with BMI's below 21.

White men, Jewish men control the media. So yes they're pressuring all women to be thin. They also convince the masses to be anti Islam, date black men, accept gays, hates Mexicans, & to be alcoholics.

  1. Your claim is valid. Caucasian men are the biggest influence on the media. And the media I feel is the biggest influence on women [and everyone] so I think that yes Caucasian men are pressuring women to be too thin.
  2. Yes, I feel there is an enormous pressure put on women to conform to a specific body image, not just by men but by the media. Just take a look at magazines for example, I'd give you 5 quid if you could find one without a diet article on the cover. Women need to learn to love their bodies and f*ck what society thinks.
  3. sadly, I think so...
although I would make it, "YOUNG Caucasian men..."
  4. Overall no. Feminists like to blame women's anorexia on men, but study after study shows that most men prefer height/weight proportionate women that have some curves and are healthy looking.

“According to the figures, the jury is in: men will choose a Rubenesque size 14 over a stick-figure size 8 when it comes to their ideal woman.”

While American women see super-thin stick models and feel unattractive and unhappy about their average or curvy bodies, men don't feel the same way. Fully 80 percent of men ages 18 to 50 say they want a voluptuous woman

78% of men would rather date a confident plus-size woman than an insecure supermodel.

Many women believe it is men who force the ideal of the size-three figure on a woman, but it's not -- it's other women

Anorexic stick figure fashion models are featured in magazines demanded by women, not men. They are driven by what fashion designers want to sell women, not based on what men want in women. Also note that anorexia is considered a mental health condition, not eating habits caused by men.

Also, the cut off of BMI 21 that you use, it not what the BMI standard or health care professional use as thin. 21 is height/weight proportionate.

  5. White men, Jewish men control the media.

So yes they're pressuring all women to be thin. They also convince the masses to be anti Islam, date black men, accept gays, hates Mexicans, & to be alcoholics.
  6. In my opinion, women do this to ourselves. We are the ones who set the fashion, we are the ones who the magazines market to (by other women), we are the ones that are the most self-critical.

There are plenty of men out there that like healthy looking women, and don't find visible ribs to be sexy.
  7. I've never heard someone say they wouldn't date a woman with a BMI over 21.

I am 5'4.5". Right now, I weigh just over 130 pounds. That puts me in the healthy range medically, but I'd still be considered overweight by the fashion industry or hollywood. I'm pretty muscular, so my body fat percentage is under 25%. Anyway, my boyfriend loves my body, and tells me I'm at a perfect weight. And he's Caucasian, for the record. Some Caucasian men do like big butts.
  8. Maybe, for mainstream America, but as a woman who is not really into White men, I think my body image is more influenced by the gay men in the fashion industry. I'm 5'7, and though I like being my height, I would hate to be "big" and tall, that's like my fear! *screams*!! I like being skinny so people think I'm a model, especially when I'm with my friend who actually is a model, but she's 5'10 and about a size 0, and I'm a size 2-4, so I don't quite compare, lol. The pressure to be thin comes from many places. White guys might be a part of it, but I love when guys tell me I have a round butt, and White guys seem to like round bottoms just as much as other guys, even Asian guys do now fsr. It's just trendy I guess. My butt isn't that big though, and when I think about it, Asian and White guys are the only ones who think I actually have a round butt. ... now I'm sad.
  9. Men everywhere are pressuring women, it has nothing to do with race.
  10. No. Caucasian women are pressuring women to be too thin.
