It depends on more than color of their skin. I'll be honest; in northern Nevada, half the black men you see walking down the street are homeless. I'm not saying half the black men in the area are homeless, but chances are, the non-homeless ones tend to drive. And... well, maybe this is racist, but black homeless panhandle more aggressively than white homeless. So, yeah, I try to steer clear of them.
Other Answers:
- I live in a major Canadian city which has about 30% of it's population being non whites. Most black people i see are normal people.Where i live people don't really fear black people and instead it's native people. When i see a native person/a group of native people i don't cross the street as most of them are harmless(if you stay away from the downtown core where i live).
- I don't but most women I know do. They also hit the lock button on their car doors when they see one crossing the street or walking through a parking lot. They claim it's because they are men but I never see them do it for white guys.

So, yeah, I try to steer clear of them. - The race of man or men is irrelevant to me when it comes to this. If I see a strange man or group of them, I will be crossing the road(especially if it's the group, as "pack mentality" can set in and an unprovoked attack can occur). The only time I don't do this, is if there are lots of other people, not just me and the man or group of them.
- No. People on the street do not scare me. The other side of street has black men on it too actually.
- I cross the street to avoid ANYONE who is smoking. Yuck. Usually the ones where I live and the white men too walk along smoking.
- yes cuz you know theyre the ones who will most likely do some shady shiet.
- No.
If I did that, I would be crossing the street every time I went out. - Almost half the population of my town is black. I've never been bothered by anybody. I don't walk very much because this is not a good town for walking from place to place but even when I do it's not something that crosses my mind unless people are acting crazy, which has happened a few times in my life. It's happened with white and black people. Nobody scares me based on their race.
