Demand the products of that for themselves and their families if in need medical treatment or anything else that requires real skills? Sure sounds great "affirmative", no fooling but in reality is that a good idea? I see were females demanded to be treated equal on construction jobs, the females I see working on road construction jobs are the ones wielding the "Stop-Slow" signs while the men are doing the real task but the woman proudly says "See we told you we could do the same job if given the opportunity"...yeah right. Yes a few women out there could kick my butt, so what? So could my mother till I turned 12 years old, (she knows better than to try that once I turned 13). Any ideas on how can lowering standards (affirmative) be good for anybody?.. @ Silent Bob...we been that way to long, time to get real.

- Poor widdle guy is losing his unjust male privileges so he comes to Yahoo answers to cry about it. Maybe a nice nap and a warm bottle is what you need.
- I work in a field that some may consider a man's field. However if you were to ask my supervisors I'm the most knowledgeable and hard working employee they have. I'm not patting myself on the back, I've over heard my supervisors saying this several times. your just regurgitating the same old bigotry, at least make your rants though provoking.
- I don't think affirmative action is the best way to fix the problem but I don't see any other way. A cycle of poverty is hard to break.

There's claims, they tried to exempt themselves from Obamacare in favor of their own system.
When the politicians who pass legislation try to exempt themselves from it, I think that speaks volumes to the true nature of said legislation.
As the first post said, people should be hired based on their merit, not their gender or other demographic attribute. Congress clearly knows this which is why they don't want to be subject to many of these laws, they themselves pass.
~ - Yeah. I avoid male nurses since they are mostly incompetent having failed school but were secretly pushed through. Damn affirmative action. Don't even get me started on pedo male teachers. That is why they are pushed into management. To get them away from the children.
- "Affirmative Action" applies to EVERYONE... Elderly, mentally handicapped, physically handicapped, people of different religion, nationality, color, etc...
I had a man [quite a few years older than I] tell me that secretarial jobs, receptionist jobs, and teller jobs are sexist against men! He further went on to complain, he's "too old" to dig ditches, and work long hard physical days, and that a receptionist/secretarial job is what he wanted... He went on even further to say that he'd never applied for such positions, and made this false assumption based on absolutely nothing...well, and his absolute hatred of women...
