How can I not be hated?

Asked by Jessica at 02 May,2013
So, I'm in year 8 at Secondary school and my school is a very judgmental place, as it is a girls school. I wouldn't say I'm completely hated, in fact I have friends but some people look at me like I'm a piece of trash, I know I shouldn't be worrying too much, I'm not. I am shy, so I feel like people can't approach me properly as I have this trait. I used to have some pathetic, mean friend in year 7 that has know became a 'Popular' girl, and as I ended our friendship, I feel like people don't like me for that reason. But in fact, it was personal and nobody's business. I used to be quiet close to this other girl in Year 7 and we used to be with each other in lessons all the time, so people thought we were weird and non-sociable? I don't think people think that anymore, as we are no longer close like that. It is just those couple of people that I know don't like me, and I don't know why? I'm not outgoing and haven't done anything to anyone, so WHY? I don't want advice like 'Just be yourself' and 'don't worry' But I have to be a bit more respected from some?

Heyy Jessica, I'm in year 8 as well and I know how you feel. I would say that the best thing to do is just try socializing more or smiling at people when they walk by or try to make light conversation, talk about work and stuff, it's pretty easy if you try hard. :-) Good luck

Other Answers:
  1. Smile more.
  2. Your age is the hardest, I hated high school. It gets easier as you grow up.
There's no way of changing how people perceive you, unless you talk to them. Perhaps you should try it. Good luck, trust me, it gets better :)
  3. everyone has haters especially in secondary school, just keep calm and dont give a shit
  4. I went to a girls' school and people were not judgmental. You must be talking about a very low class private school or a public school. Usually, people who are hated are those who hurt others or trespass upon their rights: stop violating other people's rights + control your animal instincts = become a good person.

  6. when i was you age, i had the same issue. Now i am in college, and everyone likes me. And that since highschool. How I did it? I just stopped giving a fuck. For real. I stopped talking to retards or giving a damn about what they say. Now with a school with only girls is difficult. Let them be retards. Now I am the popular one. Dunno why... i am not a snob or smtg..plus, goths are usually the hated ones. And guess who is and was the only goth in school? I am still the same but as kids grow, they stop being so..like your classmates/
  7. they might hate u because they might see ur friend as an idol.dat's why..you know what, just ignore them and focus on your goal why you go to school.anyway in the end, they can't contribute anything w/ ur life..if u feel awkward as to wat they do,or tell about.u know the truth, hat's enough.
