Doesn't hooking up train people to disconnect the physical act of sex from the emotional/intimate act of sex. How will people learn or experience meaningful intimacy when encounters have been reduced to short term acts of physical pleasure?

This doesn't even have to be framed in a moral context to have merit. Having said that, I think logic dictates anything done repeatedly will start to lose some novelty-whatever that may be.
Other Answers:
- Some don't find that there even is an emotional part to it. Which is fine, no skin off our noses if they do or not.
- I hook up with train people.
I like trains. - Since Blaise doesn't want me posting the link to the article explaining that she's the reportnik, here it is again:

- People will enjoy the short term acts of physical pleasure for so long and then they yearn for something more, a meaningful relationship to share more than just sex with. People grow emotionally and soon find they want more from life than a couple of quick hook ups.
- I think in some cases it reinforces the disconnect. How do you teach people healthy sex and emotional issues but through example and trial and error. It's a mess and bad for society and many individuals.
Hooking up makes sense on a level of it's better to screw an a-hole then be married to one forever sense. It cuts out the down side but also the benifits of a relationship/intimacy (althought those aren't always synonymous.) - Do you mean to ask: Does hooking up train women to become disconnected?
The reason I ask you that is because hooking-up has always been a common behavior for men in just about every culture. Men are already mostly disconnected where sex is concerned...but women are a different story. Hooking-up is now not such a taboo for women anymore and instead of waiting till marriage and love, they're starting to act more like men. This means that women are now almost as sexually disconnected as men always have been, which means men are now getting to see what it feels like to get pumped and dumped.
I hear it's no fun.
