Just looking for people's opinions, curious is all. Not the abuse kind that you're forced into, but a kind where, say Mormons for example, CHOSE to go into it. What do you think about it? Should it be legal? What do you think about that show "Sister Wives"?

I personally wouldn't want it for my own lifestyle but honestly I don't see anything about it that is socially damaging as long as everyone involved agrees on the decision to take in more wives/husbands.

- I don't have a philosophical or political problem with it. It is the predominant custom thru human history, including biblical Israel. It may complicate some legal things, like tax exemptions and social security survivors' benefits. And since it would mostly be polygyny (1 man, multiple women) and very little polyandry (1 woman, multiple men) it would lead to more men being left without mates who would otherwise be able to find them.
I haven't seen Sister Wives, but watched all of Big Love, which looked pretty realistic. - Monogamy is an IDEAL we try (or claim to try) to live up to. It's pretty much a myth. People (99% of them) are NOT monogamous. Not saying they're all cheaters, it's just not realistic.
Yes I think it should be legal to have more than one wife. Legal monogamy is a relatively modern social invetnion. Ask any man, and if he's honest with you, (and himself), he would tell you it would be awesome to be able to marry 2, 3, 4 or more women. But who would really want that many? Two would plenty for me.
I think it woyuld be preferable to serial monogamy. You know, marry one, dump her for another, dump her for another, etc, etc etc... I think legal polygamy would solve a lot of problems of that sort. - No should not b legal

not gonna watch that show, hopefully my wife doesn't - Love both. Depends on the face the hair is surrounding.
