8. nah, it's not about buying people off with a hershey's kiss it's about respecting other people's opinions when you don't agree.
   
   For example i used to get a lot of hate mail from women until i turned the function off. yet i never directly insulted one of them. i may say "some women" or whatever but primarily i don't use personal attacks. but i found my attackers to be very personal. and they are the ones who started reporting questions and answers.
   
   so it's up to them whether they want to be civil or not.
