He called her by her sister's name....

Other Answers:
  1. It provides her with nutrients.
  2. Female praying mantises do to. It's mandatory for the male to give his life as food for his offspring.

Even in the animal kingdom males are considered disposible.
  3. Sex makes her peckish.
  4. That's why it's called widow because your partner died
  5. He called her by her sister's name....
  6. male disposability in action. lol

In some species of ants, future queens will mate with 100's of male ants, who die pretty much immediately after mating.. the queens then swan off and start their own colonies - some live for like 20 years. with an army of non-reproducing male drones working under her.
  7. he's a convenient source of protein. and since the female considers the male to be of no further use after becoming impregnated, except as her meal ticket, why bother keeping him around?
  8. Lol, it's because there is no use for him anymore, and hurray for them! Because I'm terrified of spiders and the house I used to live in was infested with Black widows (garage and front yard at night) and I can't imagine how many more would've been there if the men stayed alive too. Yeesh.
  9. Lol all black widows are females lol
  10. Because they are small and an easy meal,
  11. as should be known by EVERY man, "first you feed them AND THEN you fuck them."
failure to assure a female black widow is NOT hungry can result in him becoming a post coital snack.

if he strokes her JUST the right way, and slowly eases her "into the mood" he can survive the experience. as seen in http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/play;_ylt=A0S00MpFmX1RPCgAzC_7w8QF;_ylu=X3oDMTBrc3VyamVwBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDdmlkBHZ0aWQD?p=male+black+widow+surviving+mating&vid=b0189b18bafdda7d5fbdde9fdc968bc7&l=2%3A03&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fts4.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DV.4616072927445107%26pid%3D15.1&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DWUBlOVM4AX0&tit=Most+Venomous+Spider+in+North+America&c=3&sigr=11agds3g9&age=0&&tt=b
